The Pledge
Gillian married Calum, and why not. Here she was confronted with starvation and the death of 'her people.' Men were underhanded, cruel, self-indulgent, and mercinary, until she met Calum in the dead of night, shrouded by mist, and then again when he freed her from the grips of her enemy.
It was a tenuous time in her life. She breaches the mountains, and enter the valley where his Keep was. She strained for a glimps of her new home. The first thing she approached was a cart drawn by two highland steers. A glimps of this photo might give you an idea why her first glimps of her new home filled her with dispair.
I would have loved to have an imposing picture in this blog, but there was something wrong with the photo. However, follow the link, and you'll see an imposing picture that may make you wonder why Gillian didn't turn and flee for her life.
