What Do You Want In a Historical Romance

I asked someone on my friends list what they wanted in a historical romance novel. Their answer was a pleasant surprise. Feel free to add your comment and let me know what you want in a historical romance novel.

For me...I like the historical romances that focus mostly on the characters but things they do are more to whatever period the story is set in. I like details of things that happened in the time period if it can be tied into the story smoothly.

Very Important for me is for the story to pick up right away and have something interesting happen that gets my attention...if a story doesn't get me in the first chapter, I'll put it down.
Oh..I'm not really fond of a novel that it seems like every chapter or every other chapter the characters are having sex...sorry, but I actually like the story line and that's what I read it for.

I have not read any of your books..like I said in the group that I am newer to reading historical romance, I choose an author and read everything they have wrote in that genre of course. I will have to check yours out. I'll let you know what I think when I do.

By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like Katie Holmes??
