The Pawn

I am just starting to write my second historical novel. It is not a sequel to The Pledge, which is also being released again in a few weeks. It is a new novel, set in the Stuart period of Scotland.

I am really excited about this book. It is my first new book in three years.

While this is a passionate novel, it is not a bodice ripper, but follows more along the line of the new Historical romantic suspense.

My hero is not named yet. I am thinking of giving the heroine the name of Kyla, and old Scot name, that the heroine believes is French. She is to be ransomed off to a Scot Earl, in exchange for allegiance to Queen Elizabeth. En route she is abducted by the hero who is loyal to the Queen of Scot - albeit the absent one. The price of her freedom might become both of their lives.
