Julie Garwood - Ransom

My favorite passtime is curling up with a coffee and a book that I love reading. I have read Julie Garwood's Ransom a dozen times. I never tire of reading Ramsey and Broderic bicker like old women, or Gillian follow her honor and her heart instead of being ruled. This is a true love story. A man who doesn't need a woman, who marries her because he wants her, only to learn later that he needs her very much.

I also love Uncle Morgan. I wish I had a crusty old uncle like him. I love the way older historicals spun a story around the romance and honor, not sex.

I think that Julie Garwood's books are still in demand because gallantry is not dead. My own husband is the type of man to decide that I will not cry, just because he doesn't want me to. At the same time, I have more freedom than most. I think that true love is letting someone 'race the wind' so they can come back refreshed and happy.

I think I will someday write a book with a heroine named Arianna. I think she deserves to be brought back to life in fiction. Any woman who has been loved so completely by a man deserves a second chance.
